Water-wise Residential Landscapes
With water conservation becoming increasingly important in California, water efficient landscaping continues to gain in popularity and serves as an effective means to lower water consumption on residential properties. Water-wise landscapes use drought tolerant plants and efficient irrigation schedules to meet landscape specific requirements, and can work well in a variety of soil conditions and topography. Drought tolerant plants (often Mediterranean or native plants) require very little water once they become established. Water efficient landscaping has many benefits including lower water use and associated costs, and easier maintenance.
