The RCD provides technical assistance to landowners, farmers, ranchers
and other land managers in Monterey County. We provide planning
and design services for a range of resource protection and conservation
practices including erosion control, water quality protection, habitat
enhancement, flood management, irrigation efficiency, and nutrient
management.
The goal of RCD/NRCS +Permit Coordination Programs is to offer “one-stop
regulatory shopping” to growers, ranchers and landowners
seeking to improve water quality or habitat on their lands. RCD
and NRCS worked with Federal, State and local regulatory agencies
to receive programmatic approval to implement conservation practices
that typically require one or more permits.
If your project is eligible, the RCDMC can provide access to and/or
facilitate your application for federal cost-share assistance through
various local, state and federal funding programs. For certain
projects the RCDMC may also be able to apply for other grant funds
on behalf of a cooperating landowner, grower or rancher.

Please note that due to programmatic funding limitations,
not all services are available in all areas of the county.
