Water & Sediment Control Basin

 
     

Definition:

A basin or pond constructed to handle excess runoff and sediment from developed parcel.

Purpose:

Detain water and retain sediment that is associated with runoff from developed parcel.

Criteria:

Must be sized to accommodate the sediment load and excess runoff above natural predicted runoff. In addition, a primary spillway and an emergency spillway must be installed to prevent basin failure.
